    Re: river herring

In the Fisherman Breachway tackle reports herring showing up in the run at Gilbert Stuart. Should be soon. No reports on the West Wall the first early season location for schoolies.

Striped bass are a perciform fish native to the Atlantic coast of North America, from Florida to Nova Scotia. They are a migratory fish that move between freshwater and saltwater. The striped bass (or "striper") is popular in sport fishing—the largest specimen ever caught weighed in at 81.8 pounds (37.1 kg). Striped bass can be a little tricky to catch, as they are constantly on the move and behave somewhat unpredictably. As a result, many fishermen argue over the best methods for catching them. However, with the right equipment and few simple techniques, you can improve your chances of hooking a striped bass.

Octopus hooks are short-shank hooks that feature a round
shank and bend, but it's not as dramatic as circle hooks.
Octopus hooks are often used for bait fishing when minimal
hook weight and size is essential for a natural presentation.
These hooks are great for hooking a leech through the sucker.

The channel catfish is North America's most numerous catfish species.
It is the official fish of Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Tennessee,
and is informally referred to as a "channel cat". In the United States,
they are the most fished catfish species with around 8 million anglers
    targeting them per year.

What size and neither is it written in stone.
